Director’s Prize Scholarship

The Hinckley Director’s Prize Scholarship provides scholarship funding for outstanding students who are interested in public service and making an impact on their communities. Priority is given to those students who have participated in an internship through the Hinckley Institute. This scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Clark Ivory, CEO of Ivory Homes.


 

QUALIFICATIONS

Selected students will be awarded scholarships up to $1,000. Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed at least one Hinckley Institute internship.

  • Strong academic standing in any academic major at the University of Utah.

  • Degree-seeking student at the University of Utah.

  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to active citizenship and public service.

  • Express a willingness to remain an engaged alumnus and mentor future students.

  • Students with at least 60 credit hours will be prioritized.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Resume

  • Letter of Recommendation (from either a professor or professional work supervisor)

  • Transcript (unofficial is acceptable)

  • Essay (see the application for prompt)

Scholarship decisions will be made before the end of spring semester. Funding will be released through the University of Utah Financial Aid & Scholarship Office and will be credited to outstanding tuition balances; excess funds will be refunded to the student.
